Eva Pietroni Art historian and a musician, researcher specialized in conservation and communication of Cultural Heritage at the Institute of Technologies Applied to Cultural Heritage in Rome, Italy. Project coordinator for cross-disciplinary projects at national and international level. . Responsible and co-director of the Virtual Heritage Lab of CNR ITABC (www.vhlab.itabc.cnr.it) Eva's field of expertise relates to: Virtual Heritage, virtual archeology and Virtual Museums, Virtual Reality, digital media & interactive technology with application to: VR systems and collaborative environments, natural interaction, "design" of digital applications for museums, interactive digital storytelling, communication and art. She is also specialized in the documentation of Cultural Heritage, from data acquisition on archaeological sites through integrated technologies to successive phases of 3D elaboration, until the integration in VR systems. Main projects: Casa dei Vettii in Pompei, the archaeological landscape of Aksum in Etiopia (2001), Giotto's Scrovegni Chapel in Padova (2002-2003, Best paper award for cultural merit at the eighth international conference VSMM, virtual systems and multimedia, 2002 ), the Appia Antica project (2003-2005), the recosntruction of archaeological landscape of Tell Mozan in Siria (2004), the VR Multiuser domain of Via Flaminia Antica (2006-2008, 1° E-Content Award in december 2008), the "Integrated Technologies of Robotics and Virtual Reality environment in Archaeology" (2006-2009, Best Paper Award VSMM 2008), Matera: Tales of a city project (2009-2012, Best Project Award in mobile category, Archeovirtual 2012)), “The Rule Confirmation”: virtual experience among the characters of Giotto's work (2010), Etruscanning 3D (European project, 2011-2013, Best Project Award Archeovirtual 2012, First Italian Heritage Award, Category Communication and Dissemnation of Cultural Heritage, 2013), The Virtual Museum of Tiber valley (2011-2013), Virtual Museum Transnational network (V-Must), 2011-2014.
