As a visual effect artist, Muqeem Khan’s motion picture credits with Walt Disney and Square USA are Deep Rising, George of the Jungle, Flubber, Armageddon and Final Fantasy. He holds BS in Interior Design and MA in Industrial Design from the Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. Drawing on ‘empathic design’ and associated techniques, his current Ph.D. research is in the field of Digital Intangible Heritage (DIH) from the University of New South Wales, Australia. He is focusing on the continuity of cultural knowledge by proposing a new model for access to indigenous methodologies. Besides teaching design classes at Virginia Commonwealth University and Northwestern University in Qatar, Khan has been teaching predominantly 2D/3D animation classes for over 12 years in the Arabian Gulf region.
