Researcher of the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Organizer and facilitator of workshops concentrating on built heritage conservation and traditional building techniques at CTU Prague for the Advanced Masters in Structural Analysis of Historical Constructions (SAHC). Active in the research of diffused coastal heritage and its protection against environmental (e.g. climate change, earthquakes, coastal erosion) and anthropological factors (e.g. tourism, property status etc.). Involved in international and national projects focussing on building vulnerabilities, damage identification and diagnosis (e.g. MONDIS, COST FP1101) as well as on integrated knowledge based approaches to the protection of cultural heritage from earthquake-induced risk (e.g. NIKER).
